P2P Voicemail: a hundredth of a cent to leave a message
Encrypted peer-to-peer voicemail where the micropayment is the spam filter. Twelve months to take it from a hackathon build to a paid product.
The project
Encrypted peer-to-peer voicemail with an encrypted contact list held on chain, and a micropayment attached to every message. Sixth at the Texas hackathon, and the placing undersells it: what the judges noticed afterwards was that the payment had stopped being a payment.
Charging a hundredth of a cent to leave somebody a voicemail costs a real caller nothing and costs an automated dialler everything. A campaign that makes four hundred thousand calls a day cannot absorb four thousand dollars a day to do it. The micropayment turned out to be the entire spam filter, and nobody had to train a model or maintain a blocklist.
This loan funds twelve months to make that a product: carrier integration, a hosted tier, and the number-porting work every business customer asks about in the first meeting. Repaid monthly from a per-seat fee.
